St Lucy Accommodation
Located in the very north of Barbados, St. Lucy has a very limited number of accommodation options.
In reality there are only 2 accommodation options in this parish, however both of them are exceptionally nice properties and can work for a variety of budgets.
Firstly you have Good Little Harbour, which operates like a hotel, but with a difference. Here the accommodation is essentially self-catering, with cottages ranging from one bedroom through to three bedrooms.
The properties are arranged around the swimming pool, bars and restaurants. They also stock your cottage with supplies prior to arrival so that you are self contained, yet everything is on hand that you could need during your stay.
So in essence you have the privacy of a self-catering cottage, yet you are within a resort complex where you can enjoy all the amenities of a swimming pool, food and drinks.
Recently the property has been expanded with the addition of six three bedroom condominiums for larger groups and these properties are decorated to a high standard to cater to the higher end of the market.
The other accommodation option is to rent Fustic House, which is an old plantation house that was renovated and redesigned by London Theatre designer Oliver Messel.
The property is quite exclusive and has its swimming pool carved from the rock surrounding the property.
There are 10 acres of lush tropical gardens to be enjoyed and a full compliment of staff to look after you.
So if you choose your accommodation in St. Lucy you are sitting on the top of the island with plenty to do on both the west or east side of the island.
St. Lucy has some great tourist attractions and from here you can easily access both the west and east coasts and so shouldn’t be ruled out as somewhere to stay in Barbados.
St. Lucy itself offers great surfing conditions at Maycocks Bay and has a natural tourist attraction in the Animal Flower Cave.
The west coast of Barbados offers you an eight-mile stretch of golden sands and the clam water of the Caribbean Sea for swimming. Here you will also find good duty free shopping, excellent restaurants and a couple of great golf courses. For more information please read the article on west coast tourist attractions.
The east coast offers some wonderful tourist attractions with rugged beauty, natural treasures like Bathsheba and some great botanical gardens to look around. For more information please read the article on east coast tourist attractions.
