Accessible via Fosters Funland or for the more adventurous, through the sand dunes found near to Belle Plain – Long Pond is fed by one of the four rivers on the island, being that of Long Pond River. The other three rivers are called the Constitution River, Joe’s River and Bruce Vale River.
This secluded, picturesque pond also fed by the Atlantic Ocean during high seas, is a favorite amongst locals for “crabbing” and fishing. Long Pond offers the sharp contrast of the turbulent Atlantic Ocean and the tranquil surface of the pond itself. Noted as one of Barbados’ well kept secrets, Long Pond is the hidden treasure of the East Coast.
