The Hastings area is one of the busier areas of Barbados outside of the major towns. Therefore, hotels, vacation homes, restaurants, boutiques, and all types of shops are within walking distance and are mostly located on the beach.
Things to Do
The promenade has a bandstand, a children’s play area, toilets, showers, benches, and picnic tables. The sea here is very rocky and not really suitable for swimming. There are no beach chairs to rent, nor any food or drink outlets on the beach; however, there is a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant on the main road.
Because of all the low levels of reefs along the beach, shells and coral often wash ashore, and collecting these tropical treasures can provide hours of entertainment for both young and old.
