Silver Sands Beach is located on the island’s south coast, in the parish of Christ Church. The beach is lovely, but the sea can be rough for swimming. Watch out for undercurrents, especially when getting in and out! Also, note there is NO lifeguard on duty here.

Things to Do

The hotel is right on the beach, with a bar and restaurant. There are no beach chairs to rent either.

Silver Sands is another big hit with experienced wind and kite surfers. The Club Mistral has a shop on this beach, offering windsurfing and kite surfing lessons; a half-day would cost $120BDS, a full day $150BDS, or a week for $570BDS. They also rent equipment; you can only get small boards for windsurfing, as the waves are big and really only for experienced windsurfers. They offer lessons, but this is at the Maxwell shop, where the sea is calmer for learning.

As with all Barbados hotels, you should check in with reception if you want to use the amenities. You can access the beach without going through the hotel, but the entrance is the easiest way.

Driving Directions

From Oistins heading away from Bridgetown, the road comes to a fork; you can take the right turn and head up towards the Silver Sands area. You will reach an oval-shaped roundabout, turn right, and follow the road all the way, past a green shop branded with Stag beer, and keep going straight; you will come to a church on the corner, go down the side of the church when you reach the bottom of this hill you will see Silver Sands Hotel.
