Saturday March 19th, 2011 Opening Night
Opera – The Well-Clipped Barber
The Barber of Seville by Rossini – A rapid fire, no holds barred dash through one of the greatest of all operas with Canadian Opera Stars Jennifer Elisabetta Fina, Emilio Fina and Douglas Tranquada. The evening opens with the thrilling UK ‘opera band’ Blake, popularly known as ‘the Classical fab four’.

Comedy Night – All Classical Music Explained
With the UK’s Rainer Hersch, a stand-up comedian, pianist and conductor. Hersch is a huge hit all around the world with shows that include All Classical Music Explained, Mozart Ze Komplete History and Ranier Hersch’s Victor Borge.

A double bill featuring Seckou Keita – the Senegalese master musician and Kora virtuoso with percussionist Surahata Susso and from Cameroon the outstanding guitarist, singer and harmonica player, Muntu Valdo.

Two international artists and two sides of classical music: Australian guitarist Craig Ogden, and the remarkable pianistic talents of Anglo-Chinese pianist Rosey Chan. Rosey’s performance is accompanied by images and video clips by Academy Award winning Director Mike Figgis.
