NIFCA’s Work Continues …
The NCF acknowledges the high pedigree of Bajan talent in Barbados comes from all corners of the island, and sometimes from people who would not normally have access to the creative arts industry.
As such, NIFCA embraces creative efforts from all walks of life and encourages participation not only from individuals, but from schools, community groups, church organisations, people with special needs, and even local penal institutions – recognising the role the arts play in the rehabilitation of those removed from society, or ‘at risk’ individuals.
And, NIFCA isn’t all about winning. The Festival also aims to provide a ‘nurturing’ environment for local artists to help them to develop their craft. In fact, it’s well known that many NIFCA graduates use their national exposure to achieve great international acclaim, securing Barbados’ place as a thriving creative arts community.
Because of this, NIFCA continues to show significant growth in the number of participants, productions, and crowd attendance each year, and the standards just keep getting higher.
