2008 Virgin Atlantic Music Festival Barbados
For the 2nd year running Virgin Atlantic are sponsoring the Barbados music festival, which will see bands flying in from the UK to perform at various venues across Barbados.
After a very successful event in 2007 that saw blues. folk and rock, the 2008 Virgin Atlantic Music Festival is set to be bigger and better!
Virgin Atlantic Airways are celebrating 10 years of flying to the Caribbean and so for 10 days you can see a live band every night!
The festival will run from October 30th until November 8th 2008 and will cover rock, reggae, blues, folk, hip hop, ska and breakbeat.
The various locations for the festival are:
October 31st, 2008: Hellraisers Ball, Surfer’s Bay – Gates open 6pm.
Saturday November 1, 2008: Urban Vibes, Surfer’s Bay – Gates open 12noon.
Sunday November 2, 2008: Weekend Blues, Surfer’s Bay – Gates open 12noon.
Monday November 3rd, 2008: Mojos
Tuesday November 4th, 2008: Berts Bar
Wednesday November 5th, 2008: Surfer’s Bay
Thursday November 6, 2008: McBrides
Friday November 7th, 2008: Beach House
Saturday November 8th, 2008: TOP SECRET to be announced at the opening weekend.
The opening festival will run for 3 days in the grounds of Surfer’s Bay Beach Bar with Mojos, McBrides and Bert’s Bar on tour. All artists will perform at the opening festival and then go on to perform another gig for the rest of the festival at various locations across the island.

This year the event will be broadcast on CaribVizion, which is received in over 22 Caribbean islands and in the US. CaribVizion will be making a 1-hour program from each event and this will feature exclusive interviews with all the musicians.
The 3-day opening festival will be by ticket only. Tickets are priced at $40 for a one day pass.
