Barbados Traveler Review 2007 – Kate from Guildford, Surrey, UK
Kate
Kate is having a wonderful time and says that Barbados exceeds her expectations as the people are so friendly, the island is so pretty and the fact that she is staying in a luxury villa is also giving her a warm glow inside.
Kate and her group have rented a private villa, which comes with a full compliment of staff preparing her cocktails, sumptuous meals and generally catering to her every need, she says that this trip has been made so special because of their luxurious surroundings and excellent company.
Since arriving on the island, Kate and her friends have tried to cram as much as possible in to their week long stay and she recommends the Crane beach in St. Phillip, which is voted as one of the top 10 beaches in the world and as it is close to their villa, she has also spent a lot of time on the beach at Holetown.
She hasn’t eaten out much as they get great food in their villa, but on a few occasions she has eaten at Cocomo’s in Holetown and said that the food there is good and very reasonably priced.
For a great night out Kate suggests that you head to Ragamuffins in Holetown on a Sunday night, when they have cabaret.
Kate also suggests that you take a trip on a boat to really appreciate the beauty of Barbados, they chartered a boat for the day and went snorkelling over a ship wreck and swam with the turtles.
The boat they chose was aptly named ‘Good Times‘ with Captain Jim and the crew of Lester and Dwayne. Kate said it was a fantastic day out and that the lunch prepared by the crew was wonderful and that they crew couldn’t do enough for them.
Kate said the best part of her holiday is to be away with old friends and being able to completely relax on the Caribbean island of Barbados with such friendly locals.
When asked how she found the prices, Kate thought that Barbados was very reasonable for this time of year and about what she was expecting to pay for a winter holiday.
When asked if she would return to Barbados, her answer was a resounding ‘Oh yes – without a doubt!’
